West Virginia, USA – Marshall University has secured USD $900,000 in federal funding through Congressman Riley M. Moore to expand its aviation training program with a new dedicated training facility in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, focused on pilot certification, flight dispatcher operations, and unmanned aerial system (UAS) training.

The funding was presented on 27 April 2026, secured through Moore's position on the House Appropriations Committee, and will be directed toward constructing a dedicated training center for aviation education.
The new facility will provide hands-on training for aspiring pilots, flight dispatchers, and UAS operators, alongside standalone courses and customised training programs for local businesses and working professionals.
