Australia – Textron Aviation, the Wichita, Kansas-headquartered manufacturer of Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft, has opened a new purpose-built service facility at Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne, more than doubling its previous footprint to over 35,000 square feet (3,343 square meters) to expand factory-direct support for customers across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
- The facility is designed to support more than 1,400 Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft operating across the Asia-Pacific region, featuring expanded aircraft servicing space, an on-site Textron Aviation parts stockroom, and a customer lounge.
- The expansion complements Textron Aviation's broader investment strategy in Australia, including recent facility upgrades in Perth, strengthening the company's regional service network across the country.
- Essendon Fields Airport, located closest to Melbourne's CBD, is one of Australia's most established aviation hubs for business aviation and aircraft maintenance. A formal grand opening event is planned for August 2026.
- For the pilot training sector, the expanded service and parts infrastructure at Essendon Fields supports the operational readiness and reduced downtime of Cessna and Beechcraft training fleets operated by flight schools and ATOs across the Asia-Pacific region, where both the Cessna 172 and Beechcraft Baron/King Air platforms are widely used in ab initio and multi-engine training.
