Vietnam – Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH), through its subsidiaries Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH North), has ordered three Airbus H225 heavy helicopters to support the continued expansion of its offshore energy operations and progressively replace ageing aircraft in its fleet.

The order reinforces a partnership between VNH and Airbus Helicopters spanning more than 40 years and reflects the Vietnamese operator's long-term strategy to centre future operations around the H225 platform for fleet modernisation and capacity expansion.
The new H225s will join VNH's existing Airbus fleet of Super Puma and H155 helicopters, deployed across offshore energy transport, utility missions, search and rescue, and broader transport operations. The H225 is the latest addition to the Super Puma family, recognised for its high performance in challenging conditions, outstanding range and payload capacity, and state-of-the-art avionics and autopilot systems that increase safety while reducing pilot workload.
The order carries implications for helicopter pilot training demand in Vietnam. The introduction of additional H225 airframes will require type-specific conversion training, recurrent proficiency checks, and potentially expanded simulator access for VNH's pilot workforce — adding to regional demand for heavy twin-engine helicopter type rating and training services.
Globally, there are more than 360 H225s and H225Ms in service, with over one million flight hours accumulated. Military H225M operators include Brazil, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Thailand.
