Saudia Academy Achieves ETEC Accreditation for Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program

April 28, 2026

Saudi Arabia – Saudia Academy (formerly Prince Sultan Aviation Academy), the training division and full flight simulator training center of Saudia Airlines, has achieved programmatic accreditation from Saudi Arabia's Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) for its Aircraft Maintenance Technician program, a GACA-approved diploma pathway.

  • Graduates of the program receive an accredited diploma, enabling them to continue their academic pathway through a bridging program at King Abdulaziz University's Engineering Department toward a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering.
  • The accreditation agreement was signed on 22 April 2026 by Dr. Al-Hussein bin Abdullah Al-Ahdal, General Manager of Technical Training and Program Supervisor at Saudia Academy, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Khairi, Executive Director of Masar (ETEC's National Center for Training Evaluation and Accreditation).
  • The accreditation reinforces Saudia Academy's position as a leading national institution for aviation workforce development, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to develop specialised domestic capabilities and enable the national aviation workforce.

Saudia Academy recently celebrated the graduation of over 1,000 aviation professionals in early 2026 and is pursuing Leonardo Authorized Training Centre status, reflecting a broad expansion of its training capabilities.
