Portugal – Omni Aviation Training Center (OATC) has taken delivery of two new Elixir aircraft in April 2026, further expanding its fleet as the academy accelerates its transition to a modern, fourth-generation training platform.
- The two Elixir aircraft join OATC's growing fleet, building on the arrival and operational launch of the academy's second Elixir reported in February 2026. The fourth-generation Elixir aircraft are equipped with a Rotax engine, full glass cockpit, integrated autopilot, and airframe parachute system, providing enhanced safety and operational efficiency for ab-initio training.
- OATC formalised its fleet renewal strategy with the introduction of Elixir aircraft through a turnkey leasing agreement with Green Aerolease, the France-based European aircraft leasing specialist.
- OATC has been simultaneously investing in simulator infrastructure. A Simnest Aviation A320 FNPT II MCC simulator is scheduled to begin operations at OATC in April 2026, complementing the academy's existing Airbus A320 type rating and base training program.
- OATC was established in 1998 as a department of OMNI Aviação e Tecnologia, SA, becoming an independent company in 2007 following rapid growth.
