USA – The National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA) has launched a new Director Spotlight series profiling the board members guiding the organisation's mission to advance U.S. flight training. The inaugural feature for April 2026 highlights Keith West, owner of Rexair Flight School and NFTA Board Director.
- West is a former U.S. Naval Aviator and graduate of the Naval Academy at Annapolis who took over as CEO of Rexair Flight Training in 2021. His background combines military aviation experience with flight school entrepreneurship, bringing both operational and commercial perspective to the NFTA board.
- Rexair Flight Training is a Cirrus Platinum Training Center based in Florida, operating from Sebring Regional Airport (KSEF) where it launched the Rexair Professional Pilot Academy in April 2025. The academy offers a complete pilot training pathway with personalised, one-on-one instruction using a fleet of Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft, Vans RV-12, Cessna 172, and Tecnam P2006T for multi-engine training. In July 2025, Rexair expanded its fleet with a new Cirrus G7 SR20.
- The Director Spotlight series is designed to introduce the industry to the leaders shaping NFTA's agenda as the organisation drives Part 141 regulatory modernisation in partnership with the FAA. The NFTA board has been expanding, with Piper Aircraft's Ron Gunnarson also recently appointed as a Director.
