Malaysia & Singapore – MAB Academy, the training division of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has formalized a Training Services Agreement (TSA) with Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) in Singapore for Airbus A330neo simulator training, marking a strategic expansion of the academy's training capabilities and regional footprint.
- The collaboration includes a three-phase implementation plan, with Phase 1 successfully completed and full completion targeted by Q3 2027.
- The agreement strengthens MAB Academy's ability to support growing demand for Airbus A330neo full flight simulator training across the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions, complementing the academy's own A330neo FFS — the first of its type in Southeast Asia — at its new Simulator Building at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
- MAB Academy also discussed with AATC the pathway toward European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification by 2027, reinforcing the academy's commitment to achieving international recognition and global training standards.
- Airbus Asia Training Centre, established in 2015 at Singapore's Seletar Aerospace Park, is the largest Airbus training facility in Asia-Pacific, operating nine full flight simulators including A320, A330, A350, A380, and ATR 72-600 devices, and serving over 95 airline customers.
- MAB Academy has been rapidly building out its training infrastructure and ambitions. The academy recently outlined its goal to become ASEAN's leading center of excellence for aviation training, currently offering more than 600 training courses with 150 trainers and serving over 30 airline customers. Plans to add MPL and ATPL ground school pathways are also under development.
