Australia – Sydney Flight College (SFC Australia), a flight training group operating across two bases in New South Wales, has welcomed its latest intake of 23 students at its Bankstown campus, commencing the Double Diploma of Aviation – Commercial Pilot Package under the academy's hybrid training structure.
- The 23 students will complete their aviation theory and academic studies at SFC's Sydney (Bankstown) campus before transitioning to the Pilot Academy Tamworth for practical flight training. The Hybrid Commercial Pilot Package combines the Commercial Pilot Licence and Instrument Rating within a Double Diploma of Aviation framework, and is the first intake of this newly launched programme structure.
- SFC Pilot Academy Tamworth has welcomed two new student cohorts in February and March 2026, with 38 students enrolled across both intakes. The college projects a total of 100 students at its Tamworth base by year-end.
- The Tamworth academy operates from a purpose-built facility at Tamworth Regional Airport, originally developed for the Royal Australian Air Force, offering a dedicated training runway, on-site accommodation, and over 300 suitable flying days per year.
- SFC has recently received its ALSIM Airliner synthetic trainer — only the second such device certified in Australia — adding Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Upset Prevention Recovery Training (UPRT) capability exclusively at the Tamworth campus.
