South Africa – Excellentia Airline Academy (EAA) has highlighted its dual fleet strategy of expanding with new Sling NGT aircraft while simultaneously refurbishing its existing Cessna 172 fleet, with 10 additional Sling NGTs due for delivery in the coming weeks.

  • The academy's fleet modernisation programme includes both the acquisition of new Sling NGT trainers — with 10 additional aircraft due — and the restoration and refurbishment of its 12 existing Cessna 172s across its Lanseria and Grand Central training bases.
  • Cessna 172 ZS-FIF has completed a comprehensive refresh including new paintwork, upholstery, ceiling lining, and door panels, with a full dashboard and instrument panel overhaul scheduled for its next maintenance cycle.
  • EAA was formed through the 2025 acquisitions of both Aeronav Academy and Skyhawk Aviation, combining two long-established South African flight training schools under the EAA umbrella, with operations at both Lanseria and Grand Central (EAA head office location).
