Colombian Special Mission Operator Acquires 2 Tecnam Twin-Engine SMP Aircraft in 2026

Colombia, Italy, & Poland – Tecnam, the Italian aircraft manufacturer, has announced the delivery of two Tecnam P2006T NG Special Mission Platform (SMP) aircraft to AVIATEK Group — a Colombian aviation and technology company specialising in special mission aviation — with one aircraft introducing the P2006T NG to Colombia for the first time and a second marking the launch of AVIATEK's European operations through its Polish sister organisation, EKOLOT.

• AVIATEK Group is already operating a Tecnam P2012 Sentinel in South America, and the addition of two P2006T NG SMPs extends the company's multi-aircraft Tecnam fleet across both its Latin American and new European operational footprints — with the first aircraft delivered to Poland for EKOLOT's European launch and the second shipped directly to Colombia.
• The P2006T NG SMP is described as arriving mission-ready and capable of adapting to a wide range of complex configurations while maintaining low operating costs relative to larger twin-engine alternatives. Its endurance, reliability, and versatility are cited as particularly well-suited to Latin American operating environments spanning coastal regions, tropical climates, and diverse geographical conditions.
• AVIATEK's special mission contracts in Latin America cover aerial surveillance, environmental monitoring, risk management, disaster response, and humanitarian operations — a profile that positions the cost-efficient twin-engine SMP as a direct operational workhorse for government and commercial contracts across the region.
• The acquisition also marks the first deployment of the P2006T NG in Colombia, making AVIATEK Group the launch operator for the type in the country.
