Germany & Austria – CAE has announced the successful delivery and acceptance of its latest image generator, CAE Prodigy, on two advanced military flight simulators: the CH-53GS helicopter full-motion simulator for the German Armed Forces and a Eurofighter fixed-wing training device for the Austrian Armed Forces.
- The German Armed Forces completed customer acceptance and qualification of CAE Prodigy in late 2025 as part of upgrades to their CH-53GS full-motion helicopter simulators. The updated systems were successfully audited by the German Military Aviation Authority (LufABw).
- Simultaneously, CAE Prodigy was deployed on a Eurofighter fixed-wing device for the Austrian Armed Forces, demonstrating the system's adoption across both rotary-wing and fixed-wing high-performance military training environments.
- CAE Prodigy enables aircrews to train in true-to-life low-level flying scenarios with an unprecedented level of scene density and highly realistic special effects, including simulation of confined spaces and degraded visual environments. The system provides scalable and repeatable mission preparation, allowing integration of advanced synthetic threats.
- The image generator delivers a seamless transition between live and synthetic training environments, enabling crews to move naturally between both and blending them into a unified and immersive training experience.
- CAE Prodigy was initially introduced in the civil aviation market, where it has been qualified on more than 30 devices worldwide to FAA and EASA Level D standards. The military deployments in Germany and Austria represent the system's expansion into defense and security simulation applications.
- CAE anticipates further deployments of CAE Prodigy on additional military platforms for both new and upgraded simulators.
