Australian Airline to Receive First E190-E2, Replacing Fokker 100 in September 2025

Australia – Virgin Australia Regional Airlines is preparing to introduce its first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft this September, marking the first brand-new aircraft to enter the Western Australia charter market in recent times.

• The E190-E2 will replace Virgin Australia’s aging Fokker 100s, delivering:

  • 30% lower emissions, supporting the airline’s sustainability goals.

  • The quietest performance in its class, enhancing passenger and community experience.

• The aircraft will strengthen Virgin Australia’s charter operations in Western Australia, a region heavily reliant on aviation for resource sector connectivity.

• Ahead of entry into service, Virgin Australia’s flight crew, cabin crew, and engineers are undergoing intensive preparation, including simulator training at CAE’s Training Centre in Singapore.
