Australia – Ansett Aviation Training (AAT), a global full flight simulator training organisation headquartered at Tullamarine International Airport in Melbourne, is recruiting a Technical Manager to lead its Melbourne-based simulator technical team, reporting to the Global Head of Simulator Operations.

  • The Technical Manager role carries responsibility for the performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of flight simulation training devices across AAT's Melbourne region, including managing maintenance, upgrades, AOG event response, and CASA and international regulatory audit readiness.
  • The position leads a team of technicians and technical coordinators and encompasses workforce planning, budget management, parts and tooling oversight, and contributions to strategic planning across AAT's global simulator operations network.
  • AAT operates training centres in Melbourne (headquarters), two additional Australian locations, Milan (Italy), Taipei (Taiwan), and Dubai South (UAE), with a global airline customer base spanning all four regions.
  • Qualifications required and preferred for the role are as follows:
    • Required:
      • Advanced Diploma in Electronics, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
      • Leadership/management training
      • Project Management experience or qualification
    • Preferred:
      • Background in avionics, electronics, or computer systems
      • Experience within aviation or regulated technical environments
