Kazakhstan – The Air Astana Group has introduced a second Acron Aviation Reality7e Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator at its Flight Training Centre in Astana, doubling its Airbus pilot training capacity and becoming the first airline in Kazakhstan to hold dual EASA and national Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan certification for a simulator.
- The new Reality7e simulator was certified in accordance with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards, together with national certification issued by the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan — the first dual-certified simulator in the country.
- The simulator reproduces up to six degrees of motion with a high level of realism, accurately replicating aerodynamic characteristics, aircraft control systems, and ground handling performance using extensive flight data sets.
- Air Astana was among the first operators of Reality7e systems in Central Asia, following the introduction of its first simulator of this type in summer 2023. More than 600 Airbus pilots have been undergoing training and recurrent checks every six months on the single simulator prior to the addition of the second device.
- Air Astana Group uses Airbus single-aisle jets in both its mainline fleet and its budget division FlyArystan, operating a total of 63 aircraft.
- The Air Astana Flight Training Centre is regularly visited by airline industry delegations and government officials, reflecting its growing stature as an advanced aviation training facility in Central Asia; among the most recent visitors was Sally Axworthy, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
- Air Astana's ab initio pilot training programme, running since 2008, has produced more than 300 graduates who have gone on to careers as First Officers and Captains with the airline, with training delivered at European flight schools over 16–18 months and financed by the airline.
