Air Arabia Seeking Candidates for Head of Flight Operations Role in 2026

United Arab Emirates – Air Arabia, the Sharjah-headquartered low-cost carrier group, is seeking to recruit a Head of Flight Operations – G9 for its Sharjah base, a Nominated Post Holder position approved by the respective civil aviation authority.

  • The Head of Flight Operations manages flight operations standards to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient handling of Air Arabia flights in compliance with GCAA, CAA, ICAO, and AOC regulations, with focus areas spanning legality, safety and security, on-time performance, and human factors.
  • Key responsibilities include supporting the Director in strategic and budgetary planning, partnering with Air Arabia training teams and aviation academies to establish training programs and develop a pipeline of qualified pilot talent, and collaborating with Crew Training teams on flight crew training needs with a focus on improving pilot standards of performance.
  • The position also encompasses oversight of quality systems, Safety Management System implementation, regulatory liaison, and operational data analysis, as well as field visits to evaluate hub and station performance.
  • Qualifications sought:
    • Captain holding an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is a must for this role.
    • Comprehensive knowledge in IATA/ CAA/GCAA/Airbus and Regulatory Bodies’ rules and regulations pertaining to Flight Operations working procedures and operating standards.
    • Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, and Security audit procedures and practices affecting Flight Operations.
  • Work experience required:
    • 12+ years of experience in Airlines industry, with minimum 5 years in a similar position leading the Flight Operations of a multinational mid-sized airline company; experience with low cost airline is preferred. (Experience in a similar position is not required for internal applicants).
    • Experienced in designing and implementing policies, procedures, manuals in line with standards and regulations.
    • Hands on forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring performance KPIs of business initiatives in aviation.
    • Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry is a plus.
